Zea Mays Annual

Each ear of this variety features translucent, colorful kernels. Each ear unique. Bred from ancestral Cherokee corn varieties. Colors are most intense when husks are dry and brown. Kernels may be ground into cornmeal or popped.

I sow indoors, then transplant 1-2 weeks after last frost. Space groups of 2 seeds 12 inches apart. Allow the ears dry on the stalks.

When the kernels are hard and you can no longer leave a mark on them with your fingernail they are ready to harvest. When they are ready, twist each ear until it breaks off. Peel back the husks. Hang the ears in a cool, dark, dry place for 4 to 6 weeks to cure.
